COLÓQUIO - IFUSP:Photonic Atoms, Molecules and Light – Mechanical Vibration Interactions for dense photonic Integration
Photonic Integration is paramount for the future of optical interconnection for long and short distances. Reduced power consumption and device footprint, as well as coherent light emission on together tunable optical signal processing functionalities are some of the requirements/challenges for the basic element to be used in these new photonic chips. In this talk we will present some basic aspects of light confinement in photonic integration. Photonic Atoms, i.e. Nanolasers and Photonic Molecules, i.e. coupled resonators will be introduced as the basic building blocks for dense photonic integration. Reconfigurable notch filters and multicasting will be demonstrated in extremely small footprints. Finally, some aspects of devices employing Light-Mechanical vibrations will be presented
